Matt*
I am a recovering heroin addict and alcoholic. I have struggled with both for over 15 years. I have been in the Solutions Center several times.
One time I overdosed and was laying on the sidewalk in front of the Solutions Center. Amy had just started working there. She never kicked me out. I couldn’t believe she gave me a second chance. Good thing for me, I would probably be dead if I was back on the streets. She let me return under strict rules. I had to go to outpatient treatment four days a week and was subject to random drug tests and was under a watchful eye.
This was the turning point in my life. I started going to AA meetings, found a good sponsor and was offered a job by someone in the program. I can make it to work everyday for the first time in my life because I am not drinking or using drugs.
After I left the Solutions Center, I went to a sober living house and was able to save enough money to buy a car and move into my own place. Life could not be any better for me at this point, and I owe a lot of it to Amy and the Solutions Center. They helped me on my way to finally becoming a clean and sober productive member of society. So, thank you Amy and Solutions Center. You helped save my life.
My life may not be perfect, but I am blessed.
